The series will exclusively premiere on Disney+ Hotstar
There’s a new brooding caped-crusader in town, and he’s coming from the Marvel camp. Disney recently dropped the trailer for ‘Moon Knight,’ showing us a glimpse of Oscar Issac in the iconic white suit.
The series will premier on Disney + Hotstar and will feature Ethan Hawke as the series villain. The six-parter series will be hit the OTT platform on March 30, with each episode releasing every week.
According to comic book geeks, Moon Knight promises to be MCU’s darkest character yet. A sentiment echoed by the official synopsis Marvel posted, “The series follows Steven Grant, a mild-mannered gift-shop employee, who becomes plagued with blackouts and memories of another life. Steven discovers he has dissociative identity disorder and shares a body with mercenary Marc Spector. As Steven/Marc’s enemies converge upon them, they must navigate their complex identities while thrust into a deadly mystery among the powerful gods of Egypt.”
Moon Knight first made his comic debut in Werewolf By Night #32, where he was introduced as an antagonist. The titular character was created by comic-book writer, Dough Moench, and artist Don Perlin. Moench has also worked on many Batman runs in the past. No wonder the visual similarities are uncanny then, eh?
This year will bring a host of Marvel standalone shows, including She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel, and Secret Invasion. Considering the last few episodes of Hawkeye, there are also rumors of a Daredevil revival.
We for one can’t contain our excitement!
