It’s Lara Dutta’s birthday today, and we hope that she has a wonderful year ahead both in terms of health and career. We aren’t seeing her in as many films as we would like to but we hope that can change. That said, it’s all right if she doesn’t want to take up movies that she doesn’t believe in.
In 2011, Lara got married to Mahesh Bhupathi (an ace tennis legend) and broke all our hearts. Even so, she does give us GF goals and we would like our significant others to emulate her lifestyle and habits.
So without further ado, let’s look at some things that make Lara Dutta tick all the right boxes.
She has great wit
When she won Miss Universe in 2000, she was asked to answer a tricky question towards the end of the show. “Right now there is a protest going on right outside here calling the Miss Universe Pageant disrespectful of women. Convince them that they are wrong,” she was asked. “I think pageants like the Miss Universe pageant gives us young women a platform to foray in the fields that we want to and forge ahead, be it entrepreneurship, be it the armed forces, be it politics. It gives us a platform to voice our choices and opinions, and makes us strong, independent that we are today,” she answered. Talk about the ability to think on your feet under pressure.
She can don many hats
Besides being an actress and a model, Lara Dutta also owns a skincare brand called ARIAS. “The product range has been carefully created and focuses on age management and control in the most effective manner. The range is created using the best ingredients from around the world that have been proven to show results. My vision has been to make sure we offer world-class products that are readily accessible to the Indian consumer at affordable prices,” she said in an interview with Bombay Times. Not just this, she is also a trained Bharat Natyam dancer.
She is an adventure junkie
In her free time, Lara Dutta loves rock climbing and bungee jumping. “I love adventure sports. I normally have a couple of days when I can take off – trekking, rock climbing, or white water rafting,” she was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.
She has a heart of gold
“I addressed leaders of state, the Harvard AIDS Institute, the United Nations — the latter for a period of 10 years as a goodwill ambassador, a role I was appointed to as Miss Universe — on issues as diverse as the HIV AIDS crisis in Asia, sub-Sahara Africa and the issue of female foeticide in India, besides politics and a myriad of other issues,” she said at an event called EVOKE India in 2012.
