It has almost been a year since we’re fighting the coronavirus pandemic. Shoots also came to a halt due to the lockdown and even now, things are working in a phased manner on the sets. But regardless of actors and crew taking precautions, many of them contracted the novel coronavirus in the past. After Ranbir Kapoor and Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Manoj Bajpayee has also reportedly contracted the virus.

The actor was shooting for his next project titled Despatch with his team when he found out that he has tested positive for the virus. The film’s director, Kanu Behl, has also been infected. The actor has isolated himself, and is currently in home quarantine. The shooting of Despatch has been indefinitely stalled after the actor and Behl contracted the virus.
Bajpayee’s publicist issued a statement that read, “Manoj Bajpayee has tested Covid positive after his director (was) infected with it. The shoot has stopped, it will resume in a couple of months. The actor is on medication and recovering well. He is in self-quarantine at home and following all precautions.”
The actor’s upcoming project, Despatch, is a thriller set in the world of crime journalism. Manoj shot for some part of the film in February. We will get to see him in the role of a man who finds himself engulfed in the dirty world of business and crime. The film is being produced by Ronnie Screwvala, and will be shot across several locations including London, Delhi, and Mumbai.

Apart from Despatch, Bajpayee also has Family Man 2 in his kitty. The show was initially slated for a February release this year. The new release date has not been announced yet. The actor also has Silence… Can You Hear It? in the pipeline. The film will premiere on March 26 on the streaming platform, ZEE5.
