Despite the positive reviews, it is being reported that the film has taken off to a rather slow start at the box office. The occupancy is pegged between 15-20% over morning shows. Laal Singh Chaddha is anticipated to get a better collection eventually, which will heavily rely on positive word of mouth. Trade analysts expect the film will certainly see an increase from evening onwards.
Laal Singh Chaddha also clashes with Raksha Bandhan at the box office. The film stars Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar in lead roles. The film revolves around the festival of Rakhi, and is an original script, which may give it an upper hand. However, it will be interesting to see if these films will be able to revive the theatre business or not.
