American celebrity and businesswoman, Kylie Jenner, has topped Forbes‘ list of the highest-paid celebrity of 2020.
In what has to be the shittiest year in recent memory, with thousands of people suffering from an economic crisis brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, the top-earning stars of 2020 earned a combined total of $6.1 billion. Kylie Jenner and her brother-in-law, Kanye West are on top of this list. After selling a majority of her beauty brand’s stake to Coty Inc., Forbes states that Jenner made $590 million this year.

Kylie Jenner is way ahead of West who, ranked at number 2, made about $170 million, thanks to Adidas.
The top 10 also consists of Tyler Perry, Howard Stern, Dwayne Johnson, Roger Federer, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Neymar and LeBron James.
The COVID-19 pandemic has been terrible for businesses and entire industries worldwide and it has naturally affected the entertainment industry as well. Forbes notes that this year’s $6.1 billion is $200 million less than that of 2019.
In 2019, Jenner was declared a billionaire by Forbes. Then, the magazine went on to publish a story on Jenner titled: ” Inside Kylie Jenner’s Web of Lies — and Why She’s No Longer a Billionaire.”
In the article, the magazine concluded that Jenner is no longer a billionaire after examining the financial filings. The cosmetic mogul had also sold a majority share in her cosmetics company, which revealed that Jenner’s worth was inflated.
“Kylie’s business is significantly smaller and less profitable than the family has spent years leading the cosmetics industry and media outlets, including Forbes, to believe,” the publication states, alleging that Jenner has lied about company figures and forged tax returns. “Forbes now thinks that Kylie Jenner, even after pocketing an estimated $340 million after taxes from the sale, is not a billionaire.”
