Kill Bill starring Uma Thurman released back in 2003 and the film is still considered a classic, something no one can ever attempt to create again. But since Hindi filmmakers have often turned to Western film for inspiration, the latest buzz is that Anurag Kashyap is working on the Hindi version of Quentin Tarantino’s cult classic with Kriti Sanon in the lead.

According to reports in Pinkvilla, producer Nikhil Dwivedi has already bagged the rights of the film for a Hindi remake a couple of years ago, and now is in talks with Kashyap to finally make the film happen. “Dwivedi has been working closely on the script of Kill Bill adaptation with Kashyap all through the lockdown. The duo is calling it a homage to the original film and has finally locked a script that does justice to the legacy of the Quentin Tarantino directorial.
Kashyap and Dwivedi have now taken a step ahead to move on to the casting front and initiated conversations with Kriti Sanon to play the lead,” a source told the portal. The source further added that the actress has agreed in principle to do the film. The paperwork for the same will be done soon.
“It’s the character of an assassin, termed as the deadliest woman in the world. The action aside, there runs a strong undercurrent of revenge and emotions all through the narrative, much like the original film,” continued the source added. The team will also get two more actresses on board to play key roles in this action thriller remake. “It might take off by early next year, however, it’s all dependent on the Covid-19 scenario,” the source concluded.
Apart from this, Sanon has Prabhas and Saif Ali Khan starrer Adipurush in her kitty. She will be seen essaying the character of Sita in the film. She also has Bhediya with Varun Dhawan and Bachchan Pandey with Akshay Kumar. As for Dwivedi, he is also working on the modern-day adaption of Naagin with Shraddha Kapoor in lead role.
