Kris Jenner might have become a successful entrepreneur and a flourishing momager now, but she did not quite have a great start at it when she got divorced from Robert Kardashian. The mother of six admitted that she was “financially embarrassed” after the split, and many moments after the divorce acted as a trigger point for her to work on herself and her financial knowledge. During a recent interview, the business mogul admitted that she did not know how to manage her money.

Jenner sat down for an interview with WSJ Magazine, and revealed that she never “used to pay bills” when she was married to Kardashian. Jenner’s husband passed away in 2003 after battling with oesophagal cancer. She added that her husband controlled all the money, and she was financially clueless about how to manage everything after his death.
Opening up about what made her turn the tables, she narrated an incident and revealed, “One day, my friend, Shelli Azoff, said to me when I was going through my divorce [from Robert], ‘How much is your gardener?’ And I said, ‘I don’t know.’ And she said, ‘You don’t know?’ That was the turning point for me: I was embarrassed that I didn’t know. I woke up one day to responsibilities that I hadn’t had the day before. And I needed to figure it out.”
But Jenner was quick enough to learn the tricks and manage her finance. “And the good news is, I pay attention… I’m a quick study and I knew I had to get it together. I felt such an enormous sense of accomplishment to be able to figure it all out and pay my own bills and make my own money and do my own taxes. And there were times when I didn’t have a lot of money, but I was very organised,” added the momager.
