Khushi Kapoor is set to follow in her sister, Janhvi Kapoor’s footsteps and make her debut in Bollywood soon. Khushi Kapoor is the daughter of producer Boney Kapoor and the iconic actress, Sridevi. Her father, Boney Kapoor confirmed the news of her debut and stated that Khushi Kapoor is interested in joining the film industry and that we can expect to “hear an announcement soon”.

However, the renowned producer will not be launching his daughter because “one tends to get indulgent”.

“I have the resources, but I would rather have someone else launch her because I am her father and one tends to get indulgent. You can’t afford to do that as a filmmaker and nor is it good for the actor,” he told Bombay Times in an interview.

“I would want Khushi to find her own footing. She will be launched by someone I respect and someone I feel secure and safe about,” he added.

Kapoor had launched his brother Sanjay Kapoor opposite Tabu in the 1995 film Prem. The film was directed by Satish Kaushik and written by Javed Akhtar but turned out to be a failure at the box office when it released. Tabu has gone on to become one of Bollywood’s most cherished actresses since then.

“Anil (Kapoor) was still an established actor, so it didn’t affect him much, but I think I became an indulgent brother with Sanjay (Kapoor) when he made his entry into films,” Boney Kapoor said.

According to the Hindustan Times, Janhvi Kapoor’s sister, Khushi, had taken an acting course in the US and also enrolled herself at the prestigious New York Film Academy. Earlier, she had also said that when it came to her dream debut, she would choose to go with director Karan Johar blindly but her father would choose her co-star.

Janhvi Kapoor had made her debut opposite Ishaan Khatter in Dhadak, which was a remake of the Marathi film, Sairat. The film was heavily criticised for removing pertinent portions of the Marathi film which made Sairat what it was.
