Recently, Kartik Aaryan announced his next movie, Captain India, the posters for which are out as well. However, the movie has landed into trouble after being accused of plagiarism.

According to Bollywood Hungama, producer Subhash Kale allegedly claimed that the plot of Captain India is similar to his dream project – Operation Yemen – his upcoming production venture. Kale stated that the poster of Captain India has “clear giveaways that their film is based on the same incident.”

“It will then become a repeat of Scam 1992 (2020) and The Big Bull (2021) episode,” said Kale. Hansal Mehta was also the director of Scam 1992, another show that had allegedly plagiarised from another.

Speaking to a news portal, Kale said “we have been working since 2016 on this project. The cousin of our director Sanjay Sankla was the pilot on this mission. Sanjay Sankla has been a reputed editor and has worked on nearly 95 films. We took 9 months to pen the script. We even got Mission Mangal  writer Nidhi Singh Dharma on board. Our pre-production was nearly done. I wonder where the idea got leaked from. This episode is in the public domain, but we were the first ones to register at the Screenwriters Association (SWA).”

Paresh Rawal has said to be decided on for Kale’s venture, although they also had the choice of Anil Kapoor or Boman Irani.

Operation Yemen is based on the 2015 Operation Raahat when the Indian Armed Forces under General VK Singh evacuated Indian citizens as well as foreign citizens from Yemen during the Yemen Crisis. However, Captain India‘s poster does not reveal that the film is based on the same operation. Kartik Aaryan will be seen playing the lead role in the film. It is produced by Ronnie Screwvala and actor-producer Harman Baweja.
