With the many hits to his credit at the box office, Kartik Aaryan has become a bankable name in the industry. But a challenge that all his fans wanted him to take on was for him to shed his chocolate boy image and get experimental on-screen. And, well, the charming actor took up the challenge and gave the audience a stellar performance in Dhamaka. However, that was just the beginning. After giving the biggest of hits in 2022, Aaryan is making the right kind of noise again. This time, it’s for Freddy.  

The film has been in talks for the longest time, but Aaryan never discussed what the movie entails. After months of anticipation, he broke the Internet today with the teaser of the film. The short clip gives you a terrifying sneak peek into the world of a dentist name Dr. Freddy Ginwala and his darkest secrets.  

Not much is revealed in the teaser, but the premise is set. The clip shows the audience a shy and awkward dentist who isn’t exactly what he’s pretending to be. The film also stars Alaya F opposite Aaryan, who happens to be missing from the teaser that became a rage within a few minutes of its release.  

Fans were both elated and surprised to see the teaser. Many expressed how they were looking forward to seeing Aaryan in a new light. Others appreciated him for taking a risk and doing something different. The reactions were positive, indicating that they absolutely loved Aaryan in it.

The film is directed by Shashanka Ghosh. Talking about the film, Ghosh said, “The power of Freddy is its incredible writing of each character, set, and background music. With Kartik Aaryan’s character in the film, the fans are going to be blown away seeing him in a never seen avatar. I hope the audience enjoys the film.” 

Aaryan also opened up about his preparation for the role, and averred, “Freddy was a complex script and character, the prep of the role had to be done physically and mentally as well. The character helped me explore a different side of my craft and encouraged me to challenge my abilities at every step as an actor. The first time I got the opportunity to explore the dark side of me.” 

Produced by Balaji Telefilms, NH Studioz, and Northern Lights Films, the film will release on Disney+ Hotstar on December 2, 2022.
