Are Diwali parties even a thing anymore? If you’re Karan Johar, definitely yes. The Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham director and head honcho of Dharma Productions, Karan Johar kicked off Bollywood’s Diwali parties and invited a handful of his friends.
Those in attendance at the Karan Johar Diwali party were the iconic Kareena Kapoor Khan, the stunning Malaika Arora, Manish Malhotra, and Maheep Kapoor.
The 2020 Diwali party was exceptionally low-key given the fancy parties that we’re used to seeing every year. However, with the pandemic and the social media (and sometimes, electronic media) trolling of Bollywood this year following the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, it’s only understandable that Johar wouldn’t want to draw undue attention to himself or his friends.
Kapoor Khan turned up to the party in a grey kurta and pajama while Arora was seen in some sort of a white printed outfit. Malhotra was dressed in a red kurta from his latest collection. Sohail Khan’s wife Seema was also in attendance at the Karan Johar Diwali party.
Johar has also recently released a children’s book titled ‘The Big Thoughts of Little Luv’. It is said to be inspired by his own experiences as a parent to Roohi and Yash. The book will be published by Juggernaut Books.
Before the lockdown set in due to the coronavirus pandemic, Johar was working on historical drama, Takht which features a star-studded ensemble cast of Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Anil Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, and Bhumi Pednekar.
