Karan Johar Gets Brutally Trolled For Promoting Matrimonial Site
Karan Johar Gets Trolled For Promoting Matrimonial Site For ‘Highly Educated’ People

Trolls don’t miss any opportunity to get on Karan Johar’s case and this incident was no exception

While Karan Johar chooses to remain unapologetically himself, trolls never leave a chance to make jokes at his expense. Be it his clothes or the kind of film he’s backing, internet trolls don’t miss any opportunity to get on his case. The filmmaker recently featured in a commercial for an exclusive matrimonial site and became the talk of the town in no time.

The said matrimonial site caters to the ‘highly educated elect class’ from the 15 top colleges of India including names like IITs, IIMs, etc. Johar became their brand ambassador and hence was a part of this hilariously absurd advertisement.

“Hum ek baar jeete hai, ek baar marte hai. Aur shaadi bhi ek hi baar karte hai. Isiliye, bahot zaruri hai ki life partner ka decision humara correct ho. Aur yeh aasan nahi hai, especially for highly-educated. Kyunki agar aap highly educated ho toh aap age, caste, height, vagera dekhne se pehle, ek partner me mental compatibility dhundte ho,” he says in this video.

Sharing the commercial on his social media, Johar wrote, “A matrimonial platform like no other – IITIIMShaadi.com! And I’m super excited to see some ‘real’ love come to life, not just reel! If you are looking for your life partner, https://www.iitiimshaadi.com/ should be your go-to site. They invite alumni of the top 10-15 colleges from all fields to register and find a match amongst each other!”

The advertisement, of course, became another reason for trolls to make fun of the filmmaker. People condemned the ad and called it highly offensive. People even went on to call Karan Johar ridiculous, hoping that the ad is just an April Fool’s Day joke.

Apart from this, Johar is busy shooting for his next directorial Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. This love story features Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles with Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi in pivotal parts. He recently also announced his plans to remake the Malayalam movie Hridayam.
