With a stern tweet on Wednesday, superstar director Karan Johar busted a rumour around his highly-awaited and much-talked-about film, Takht. He clarified that the rumours around the acquisition of Takht are untrue.
“News articles and speculations making the rounds about the acquisition of Takht are baseless and untrue! I would request media houses to focus on more relevant and critical issues that plague our country and refrain from incorrect reportage,” read KJo’s tweet.
This statement was posted on Johar’s twitter account within hours of media reports claiming that Dharma Productions has collaborated with Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series for Takht. The reports also speculated that this collaboration took place after Fox Star Studios reportedly pulled out of the project.
According to a Bollywood Hungama report, KJo was reportedly in talks with LYCA Productions “but the two could not reach a common ground and the deal was called off.”
“Karan has been trying to get a studio partner on board since it’s a big-budget film and requires a constant inflow of money,” the report added.
Takht stars Kareena Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Janhvi Kapoor, Raveena Tandon, Anil Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar in lead roles and is supposed to release on December 24, 2021.
