Pop Smoke’s second posthumous studio album has been released. The project—Faith—comes a year after the release of the late musician’s highly successful debut album, Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon.

Many a renowned name grace the 21-song tracklist such as Kanye West, Dua Lipa, Pusha T.

The latest album arrives a year after the rapper’s first official album following a string of mixtapes.

Faith is the follow-up to Pop Smoke’s debut album, Shoot for the Stars Aim for the Moon, which dropped four months after he was shot and killed in Los Angeles during an apparent home invasion back in February 2020. The first album went No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart —twice— for the week of July 19 and October 25 of 2020.

Kanye West, Dua Lipa, Pusha T, Future, Pharrell Williams, 21 Savage, Rick Ross, the-Dream, Migos’ Quavo and Takeoff, Chris Brown, Kid Cudi, Swae Lee, and Lil Tjay are some musicians who have made their contributions to the album. 

Before the tracklist came a trailer. In that video, Pop Smoke can be heard saying “I always knew I was gonna be something good. I feel like it’s coming back to New York.”

He goes on, saying, “When you keep winning, they can’t stop you… the fake can never succeed at nothing.” 

“When you know what you want, don’t let anybody get in between you and your creation. I ain’t trying to just be cool, we gotta make history.”

The album is said to be an emotional look at what could have been. 

Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon had debuted on top of Rolling Stone’s Top 200 Albums chart, and later landed at Number Three on the Year-End Top 200 Albums Chart, coming in third behind Taylor Swift’s Folklore and Lil Baby’s My Turn. It also won Pop Smoke awards at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards, and even a Grammy.
