Kanye West has announced yet another Listening Event for his latest album, Donda, this time in his hometown, Chicago.
He has already hosted a pair of listening events for the album before, making this one the third. This public listening is taking place at Soldier Field in Chicago on August 26. Tickets go on sale on August 20. The musician would team up with Apple to live stream the event yet again, as he had before.
After his first launch, Ye had decided that the album was not ready and the team had named a new date, August 6, for the album to be released to the audience instead of the originally planned schedule of July.

The second event, which also was live-streamed via Apple Music, featured an elaborate stage show, multiple new songs, and substantial updates to tracks he debuted at the first listening session.
In addition to previously featured JAY-Z, Pop Smoke, Lil Baby, and others, the updated Donda from the second live stream revealed new features from The Weeknd, Jay Electronica, and The Lox.
The second live stream also featured a long silent session, aired throughout the day, of West “finishing the album.”
The first live listening event for Donda broke Apple Music’s live streaming record, with 3.3 million people tuning in. The second Apple Music-exclusive stream brought in 5.4 million viewers.
On the other hand, fans’ frustrations mount as the album still remains officially unreleased. There is still no word on the new release date for the much-awaited album.
Abou “Bu” Thiam, West’s current manager, seems to have confirmed that Donda will finally be made available to listen after the upcoming listening party in Chicago. He has done so via social media.
In Instagram’s comments section on one post about the album, Thiam replied to two fans to reaffirm that Donda will definitely drop after the event. When one fan asked if West will “finally drop the album” following the listening party, “Absolutely!” came the response. Another fan asked if there was a chance for the album to remain awaited further to be worked on or if it will “100% drop,” to which Thiam answered, “100%.”
