Kangana Ranaut, the queen of controversies as they call her, is once again headlining the news. As you might have guessed already, the reason is once again not her films. The actress recently announced that she will be suing a leading film magazine after they invited her to their award show. Her reasons were hailed by fans who took to appreciate Ranaut’s ballsy step and praised her for the same.
Taking it to her Instagram story, the Queen actress wrote, “I have banned unethical, corrupt and totally unfair practices like @filmfare since 2014, but since I have been getting many calls from them for attending their award function this year as they want to give me an award for Thalaivii… I am shocked to know that they are still nominating me. it is beneath my dignity, work ethics, and value system to encourage such corrupt practices in any way, that is why I have decided to sue @filmfare… thanks.”
Soon enough Twitter was abuzz with discussions about her bold statement. People discussed how award functions are often baseless and the actress’ step was much needed. Fans dissed the magazine for having “the audacity to nominate and actually ask her to attend the function after boycotting her publicly.”
