Kangana Ranaut Delivers Her Biggest Flop With 'Dhaakad'
‘Dhaakad’ Sells 20 Tickets And Is Now Kangana Ranaut’s Biggest Flop

With the film doing poorly, Ranaut has decided to turn to film-making

Kangana Ranaut had a lot riding on Dhaakad. The film was a special project for the star and it was supposed to revive her game in the industry. However, sadly the ‘cancel’ queen got cancelled by the audience herself. Her action film, which released on May 20th, along with Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, was a huge disappointment at the box office. It recorded dismal figures, raking in only Rs 4,420 on the eighth day of its theatrical journey, with just 20 tickets sold across the country.

This film has proved to be the biggest flop in Ranaut’s filmography. Her previous films like Panga, Judgementall Hai Kya, Rangoon, Simran, and Katti Batti have also done poorly but none have been this bad. While Panga registered Rs 22 crores at the box office, Judgementall Hai Kya and Rangoon made Rs 34 crore and 20.87 crores, respectively. The others also crossed Rs 1 crore.

With this it seems like Ranaut has accepted the defeat and is mpw planning to move on to film-making. She took to Instagram recently to announce that she has started working on her next directorial titled Emergency. “Of all the roles I play I am most comfortable in being a filmmaker. #Emergency,” she wrote, and this may just be her response to the failure of Dhaakad.

Well, we hope finds success there. As for her action-thriller, the film was reportedly made on a budget between Rs 80-90 crore. Several media reports are also suggesting that the film is struggling to find streaming distribution as the producers were not able crack any good deals prior to the release.

On the contrary, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 turned out to be a huge hit. The film has crossed Rs 100 crore mark at the box office.
