Along with his successful Stranger Things debut, Joseph Quinn also made his first appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s talk show, The Tonight Show. Just like his character, Eddie Munson, the actor’s first-ever talk-show appearance certainly didn’t disappoint. Quinn talked about his role, the popularity that he received after ST4 and how Munson rescued him from airport security at the USA International airport.
Narrating the incident, the actor told Fallon, “I was taken into a dungeon, and I was asked to wait there for about 20 minutes. Then I was summoned to this desk where someone asked me, ‘What are you doing in the United States, sir?'” The actor said that he had arrived to meet Fallon, and then, something happened that he couldn’t have imagined.
Thankfully, an officer recognised the actor and came to the rescue. “One of his colleagues looked over at me, looked to him, and said, ‘Leave Eddie alone.'” The police asked him if he returns for the next season, and much to our delight, he did not say no.
He was like, ‘Do you come back next season?’ And I said, ‘Um, I don’t know.'” Quinn’s non-committal response comes with hope, because fans want to believe that Eddie will return.
The actor went on to discuss Eddie’s Master-of-Puppets guitar solo and what shooting for the scene felt like. He moved on to talk about working with co-stars Joe Keery and Gaten Matarazzo. Quinn even gifted Fallon a Hellfire Club T-shirt as a meeting present.
For the unversed, in the last episode of Stranger Things Season 4 Vol 2 , Joseph Quinn dies while fighting the demi-bats. His emotional scene with Dustin (Matarazzo) was one of the most discussed from the show, as was the guitar solo. In fact, the scene helped land the Metallica song, from 1986, on the No. 40 position on the Billboard Hot 100, scaling the singles chart for the first time since its release 36 years ago.
