Johnny Depp Rumoured To Return As Jack Sparrow
Johnny Depp And The Curious Case Of His Return As Jack Sparrow

Rumour had it that Disney was asking Depp to return after they kicked him out following the allegations by Amber Heard for an alleged deal of around $300m

Ever since the trial verdict, Johnny Depp has been quite busy. Be it touring with his band or signing new films, he is doing it all. Rumours also surfaced online that the actor will be returning as Jack Sparrow in the sixth film of Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise, with representatives ultimately quashing the gossip.

Rumour had it that Disney was asking Depp to return after they kicked him out following the allegations by Amber Heard, with some reports suggesting that the mass media company was offering him a deal of around $300m. Naturally, this got fans and as they eagerly waited for more details, a representative came forth to clear the air.

“This is made up,” they told NBC News. An interesting thing to note here is that during the trial Heard’s attorney, Ben Rottenborn had asked Depp, “If Disney came to you with $300m and a million alpacas, nothing on this earth would get you to go back and work with Disney on a Pirates of the Caribbean film? Correct?” to which Depp had answered in the affirmative. However, later, he did reveal the urge to wish his iconic character a proper goodbye. Chances are that the tittle-tattle stemmed from this.

Depp played Captain Jack Sparrow in five films, including the 2017 released Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. Two films from the franchise are currently in the works, as we speak.

As for where we can see Johnny Depp next, he’s set to play King Louis XV in Jeanne Du Barry. The actor is on a musical endeavour with guitarist, Jeff Beck. And while he has moved on from the iconic role, Disney recently displayed his image as Jack Sparrow in its light shows onto the castle at Disneyland Paris, for the first time since 2018.
