Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck , who got separated from their respective former partners almost simultaneously, found solace in each other’s company last year. The rekindled friendship soon turned into love and 20 years since the duo was first engaged, they have finally put a ring on it. Bennifer fans naturally cannot keep calm. 

The news of their wedding came after Lopez posted about it on her website, sharing pictures from the intimate ceremony, which took place in Las Vegas. Her journal of the special day offers a peek into the wedding in detail, with fun anecdotes like how the couple almost didn’t make it on time, and had to make the chapel stay open only to wed them.

“Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient. Exactly what we wanted. Last night we flew to Vegas, stood in line for a license with four other couples, all making the same journey to the wedding capital of the world,” she said in a newsletter posted by People. 

“We read our own vows in the little chapel and gave one another the rings we’ll wear for the rest of our lives. They even had Bluetooth for a (short) march down the aisle. But in the end it was the best possible wedding we could have imagined. One we dreamed of long ago and one made real (in the eyes of the state, Las Vegas, a pink convertible and one another) at very, very long last,” Lopez wrote in a long post on her website.

Soon after, the Internet went wild. Interestingly, JLo — who looked like a million bucks — sported a wedding dress she had previously worn for a film.

Back in 2002, Lopez and Affleck had exchanged rings and were planning on getting married in 2003. The former couple officially parted ways in 2004, and have been friends ever since. They reunited romantically 20 years later when JLo found her ex-fiancé, Alex Rodriguez, cheating on her.
