The much-awaited trailer of the upcoming film Jayeshbhai Jordaar is out. The film stars Ranveer Singh in the lead role. Written and directed by Divyang Thakkar, Jayeshbhai Jordaar is set to hit cinemas on May 13th, 2022. The film also features Boman Irani, Ratna Pathak Shah, and Shalini Pandey in pivotal roles.
About the trailer
The trailer begins with the sarpanch (Boman Irani) hearing a complaint about drunken men teasing girls outside a school. His solution is to blame it on fragrant soaps used by the women, which apparently attract men. Once he finds out that is bahu is going to give birth to another daughter, all hell breaks loose. Jayeshbhai takes his wife (Shalini Pandey) and daughter and runs away from home to protect them from his parents.
The rest of the film seems to be a big chase sequence where Ranveer Singh as Jayeshbhai is trying to protect his family and unborn child. Despite being in such a milieu, he is shown to be a progressive man who does not subscribe to the same ideas as his father.
The official Twitter handle of Yash Raj Films shared the trailer link of Jayeshbhai Jordaar and captioned it, “Jai Mataji! #JayeshbhaiJordaar TRAILER OUT NOW! Celebrate #JayeshbhaiJordaar with #YRF50 only at a big screen near you on 13th May (sic).’
Take a look:
Speaking about his character, Ranveer says that a character like Jayeshbhai is not someone we’ve seen before. “He is not your typical hero. He discovers heroism when he is pushed to the brink and he is, according to me, one of the most lovable heroes in the history of Hindi cinema.” The actor further says, “Hopefully, Jayeshbhai will change the definition of heroism on screen and hopefully leave an important message to people in the most entertaining and hilarious fashion. Jayeshbhai Jordaar is undoubtedly a film with the biggest heart in my body of work.”
“It will make people laugh, cry, ponder and feel really, really warm when they see a feel-good film whose hero is the most innocent and honest person that you have met in a long, long time.”
While talking about what drew him to the character, Ranveer says, “He is quick-witted and he has his heart in the right place. The script is just remarkable. You don’t find these films every day. Jayeshbhai is a rare product. It has certainly turned out to be really special. I hope we manage to entertain everyone with this film because it is really meant for everyone to enjoy.
“It is a community experience with your friends and families. You will know when you see this trailer. It is a celebration of the human spirit which will fill you up from within when you experience it on the big screen.”
Meanwhile, apart from Jayeshbhai Jordaar, Ranveer has some interesting projects in the pipeline including Cirkus and Karan Johar’s Rocky aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani with Alia Bhatt.
