SS Rajamouli’s RRR starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR was a cinematic experience like people hadn’t witnessed before. It did so well, that the film went to theatres in US for screening a second time. An OTT release added to the buzz, drawing the attention from several filmmakers in the West. And the latest addition to this list is Guardians of the Galaxy-director, James Gunn.
Gunn received a request from an Indian fan to watch RRR . When he came across the tweet, he obliged the fan by telling him that he had already watched the film, adding that he ‘totally dug’ it.
Apart from Gunn, Scott Derrickson, director of Doctor Strange, also posted about his love for the film. He wrote, “To celebrate my birthday last night, my wife, kids and I watched @RRRMovie — what an awesomely outrageous roller coaster of a movie. Loved it.”
The blockbuster hit got a thumbs up from Doctor Strange‘s screenwriter, C. Robert Cargill, as well. The film has earned over Rs 1,200 crore at the box office so far and is now competing with big titles like Tom Cruise’s Top Gun: Maverick and Robert Pattinson’s The Batman for the Best Picture category at the Hollywood Critics Association Awards.
The final scenes of RRR do leave room for a sequel, and just like Baahubali, could have a second stint. Shedding light on the same, Charan and NTR recently said they would not mind being a part of another Rajamouli film, especially if it is a sequel to this one.
