The new season of the show will be executive produced by Adam McKay, Jesse Armstrong, Frank Rich, Kevin Messick, Jane Tranter, Mark Mylod, Tony Roche, Scott Ferguson, Jon Brown, Lucy Prebble, Will Tracy and Will Ferrel

With the third season of Succession ending on a high note, the excitement for season 4 has been palpable. So, fans of the show will be relieved to learn that HBO has confirmed the next season, with filming for it already underway.

In the season finale last year, we saw Logan (Brian Cox) engineer a sale of Waystar Royco with the help of Tom Wambsgans (Matthew Macfadyen) to  Lukas Matsson (Alexander Skarsgard), amidst strong objections from his three children — Kendall (Jeremy Strong), Shiv (Sarah Snook) and Roman (Kieran Culkin).

Following in those footsteps, the season four logline reads, “The sale of media conglomerate Waystar Royco to tech visionary Lukas Matsson moves ever closer. The prospect of this seismic sale provokes existential angst and familial division among the Roys as they anticipate what their lives will look like once the deal is completed. A power struggle ensues as the family weighs up a future where their cultural and political weight is severely curtailed.”

The Adam McKay-produced series has bagged over 23 Emmy nominations and 9 wins over its first two seasons. The third season, too, is expected to follow in the same suit, with a barrage of nominations coming its way, aside form the top guild prizes that it has already claimed from the WGA, DGA, PGA, and the SAG Award.

While we don’t know much yet, the new season of the show will see the addition of  Peter Friedman, David Rasche, Fisher Stevens, Hiam Abbass, Justine Lupe, Scott Nicholson, and Zoë Winters and Jeannie Berlin. Considering the events of last season, we also expect to see Alexander Skarsgård coming back in some capacity.

The new season of the show will be executive produced by Adam McKay, Jesse Armstrong, Frank Rich, Kevin Messick, Jane Tranter, Mark Mylod, Tony Roche, Scott Ferguson, Jon Brown, Lucy Prebble, Will Tracy and Will Ferrel. Here’s how fans are reacting to the news:
