Ms Marvel is just a few hours away from its release on Disney+ Hotstar. Iman Vellani will star in Marvel’s first Muslim superhero series and fans are pretty excited to see her in the action avatar. Interestingly, there is a lot of buzz about the star in the making, with people discussing everything and anything about her. In the pool of the many tweets, we happened to stumble upon how she bagged the role and you might want to know.
There’s no denying that WhatsApp family groups are somewhat annoying as the very gullible elders from the group often forward random information to us. Well, this very act of forwarding messages helped Vellani bag her role in Ms. Marvel. It so happened that the actress’ aunt discovered a message on a WhatsApp forward chain about a casting call for the Disney series. Vellani bagged an audition and then the role only because of this message. WhatsApp forwards don’t sound so bad after all now, right?
Apart from Iman Vellani, the mini-series also stars numerous Asian and American actors including Mohan Kapur , Nimra Bucha, Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Zenobia Shroff, Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Laith Nakli, Azhar Usman and Travina Springer. Fawad Khan and Farhan Akhtar are also a part of this show.
The titular character, Kamala Khan, happens to be Pakistani herself. Kapur will be playing the hugely important role of her father, Yusuf. His wife Muneeba and son Aamir in New Jersey are played by Zenobia Shroff and Saagar Shaikh, respectively.
Marvel Studio’s series will arrive on Disney+ Hotstar on June 8. The new series will be available in India in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam languages.
