Hollywood To Make A Scene-By-Scene Remake Of ‘Gunda’

They are finding it difficult to replicate the rhymes in English.

We all know Gunda. That one film that is so bad, it’s absolutely fantastic. Made by the legendary Kanti Shah, the movie has achieved cult status for having incredibly imaginative dialogues. Well, so much so, that Paramount Pictures has purchased the rights to make a scene-by-scene remake of the movie.

“It’s a film that needs to go international. We thought just the subtitles won’t achieve the similar effect, and we are working on making something so cringeworthy, people are going to rave about it. We’ll have dialogues like, ‘My name is Strange, I keep loose change’ delivered with a lot of confidence,” a spokesperson for the production house said.

The script is still in the draft stages, as the writers are finding it difficult to translate Hindi rhymes into English ones. “Incredible! A false coin has said something brilliant; as sharp as a gun shot, it’s intelligent,” reads another dialogue.

We spoke to Mithun Chakraborty for his thoughts on the remake. “They used to call it B-Grade cinema, but it required a lot of hardwork and thought. Capturing the attention of any audience is tough, and we would spend sleepless nights to get our comic timing right while shooting Gunda. The number 1 challenge for the Hollywood filmmakers would be to find able actors who can play legendary parts like Bulla and Ibu Hatela. Even the tonality of the film is very difficult to replicate, considering all the comic references are very Indian,” he said.

This is a fake news report. Any similarity or relevance is purely fictional. But hey, here’s hoping for the best. Have an optimistic April Fool’s Day.
