Celebrities are often admired and adored for more reasons than one. Their influence makes them ambassadors of goodwill, and great social media influencers. However, much to the shock of fans, despite maintaining a good public image, a volley of top stars have been embroiled in murky controversies and have even been accused of it.  Here’s a list of 8 such shocking controversies that involved popular celebrities.

Ezra Miller  

On May 1, 2022, a complaint for burglary was filed at the Vermont State Police station in the United States. Once the investigation commenced, it was established that Miller had reportedly stolen bottles of alcohol from a locked residence, when its inhabitants were out. The Flash actor was arrested earlier this year for a second-degree assault as well.  

Kanye West  

In January 2022, Ye was accused of punching a fan. It happened outside a club at 3 am, and the situation was being investigated as a battery investigation. If found guilty, the rapper might need to serve a six-month-long jail term.

Jeremy Renner 

In 2019, Renner’s ex-wife Sonni Pacheco accused him of threatening to kill her when he was high. The American actor allegedly told someone that he could not deal with his wife anymore. She further mentioned that he has once put a gun in his mouth and tried to kill himself.  

Winona Ryder  

Stranger Things actress Winona Ryder was arrested for shoplifting in 2001. She was reportedly caught stealing from Saks Fifth Avenue, located in Beverly Hills. Reportedly she stole items worth thousands of dollars.  

Natasha Lyonne 

Before playing the role of an inmate in Orange Is The New Black, actress Natasha Lyonne took some real-life jail time experience. In 2004 a complaint was filed against her for trespassing and harassing, for which she had to spend a night in jail.  

Snoop Dogg  

Dogg has quite a few charges against his name. When he turned 19, Dogg was turned to the police for possessing cocaine. Back in 1993, along with his bodyguard, he was allegedly accused of murder. It was a first-and second-degree murder charge against them.  

Mark Wahlberg  

Wahlberg lived a different life altogether before he joined showbiz. He has been accused of a long list of crimes which include harassment, substance abuse, etc. When he was 16 years old, he allegedly blinded an Asian person with a hook. Then he was also charged with an attempt to murder for which he served 45 days in jail. 

Will Smith  

In 2005, Smith got into a heated argument with a record promoter. The situation spiraled out of control after Smith allegedly asked his bodyguard to thrash the promoter. The actor had to spend a night in jail after his bodyguard acted upon his instructions.
