Every year, at around 10 PM on the 1st of November, fans of Shah Rukh Khan throng the gates of Mannat for his birthday. They bring cake, firecrackers, and dhedh saara pyaar, waiting for the moment when Khan will appear above the gate and fan his hands wide apart. His signature move and the sheer charisma he exudes sends fans and social media into a tizzy.

 

This year, however, due to the novel coronavirus and with Khan not being in Mannat currently, his fans have come with new ways to celebrate his 55th birthday and make it as grand as possible. “Iss baar ka pyaar thoda door se yaar (this time show your love from a distance),” Shah Rukh Khan told his fans, in regards to his birthday celebrations.

 

However, Khan has a host of fans in Bollywood as well. Considered one of the most chivalrous men in the Hindi film industry, Khan was showered with greetings by celebrities.

 

While Kareena Kapoor Khan took to Instagram to say that SRK was the “the warmest, most gracious superstar we have”, Juhi Chawla pledged to plant 500 trees in his name.

 

South superstar, Mahesh Babu called Khan “one of the most humble people” he’s known actress Deepika Padukone, who has co-starred with SRK in three films – Om Shanti Om, Chennai Express, and Happy New Year curated a special SRK playlist for his 55th birthday with songs like Tum Hi Dekho Na from the film Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna and Suraj Hua Maddham from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Tujhme Rab Dikhta Hai from Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Gerua from Dilwaleand Ae Ajnabi from Dil Se.
