HBO Defends Team Euphoria Against Claims Of Toxic Production
HBO Addresses Toxic Work Environment Claims On The Sets Of ‘Euphoria’ Season 2

The second season of Euphoria ended with the finale titled “All My Life, My Heart Has Yearned for a Thing I Cannot Name,” which crashed the HBO Max website.

Euphoria season 2 ended on a high note, with fans already demanding for the next season. The season finale titled “All My Life, My Heart Has Yearned for a Thing I Cannot Name,” crashed the HBO Max website and was everything that people were talking about on the internet. But while the show has been in the headlines for all the good reason till now, new development reveals that the work environment on the sets of the HBO show was severely toxic.

Many background actors contended that the work environment on the sets of the show was unhealthy. Addressing the problem in a statement to Variety, HBO stated, “the well-being of cast and crew on our productions is always a top priority.” The network also said that season 2 of the show was produced in “full compliance with all safety guidelines and guild protocols.”

“It’s not uncommon for drama series to have complex shoots, and COVID protocols add an additional layer. We maintain an open line of communication with all the guilds, including SAG-AFTRA. There were never any formal inquiries raised,” stated the statement further.

It all started when claims were made that there were “multiple complaints made to SAG-AFTRA over the production failing to provide them meals on time and refusing to let people use the bathroom.:

It felt toxic to me because I don’t think anybody was really happy to be there,” a source revealed to The Daily Beast. They further added that the set “didn’t have a proper holding area for the extras” and that “there were so many complaints called into SAG-AFTRA that a union rep turned up to set.”

Ratings for the second season of the show is up by 100 percent, compared to its first installment. While HBO did confirm that Euphoria will be back for season 3, we’re yet to get an official date. However, considering Zendaya’s packed scheduled, which includes filming the next Dune movie, we don’t expect the teen drama to return until 2024.
