Arnold Schwarzenegger has been one of the few 80s icons who’s transitioned from a macho action hero to a rather wholesome old man. However, if the recent allegations are to be believed about the 74-year-old, Schwarzenegger may not seem that pleasant a person to work with.
During an episode of the I’ve Got News For You podcast, Harry Potter actor Miriam Margolyes revealed how much she disliked working with the Terminator star. During the filming of End of Days starring Schwarzenegger and herself, Margolyes alleged that the former governor of California farted in her face deliberately, for which she still hasn’t forgiven him.
The 81-year-old OBE actor was quoted as saying, “He’s a bit too full of himself and I don’t care for him at all. He’s a Republican, which I don’t like. He was actually quite rude. He farted in my face. Now, I fart, of course, I do — but I don’t fart in people’s faces. He did it deliberately, right in my face.”
“I was playing Satan’s sister and he was killing me, so he had me in a position where I couldn’t escape and lying on the floor. And he just farted,” she continued. “It wasn’t on film, it was in one of the pauses, but I haven’t forgiven him for it.”
For those who are curious, End of Days was directed by Peter Hyams and starred Schwarzenegger as an ex-cop on a mission to hunt Satan before he procreates. Yes, you read that right. In the movie, Margolyes appeared as one of Satan’s assistants, who needs to be stopped by Schwarzenegger.
Despite its “interesting” premise, the film was slammed by critics when it was released, garnering 13 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes. However, it did rather well with the masses, topping out at a collection of $200 million, on a production budget of $100 million. Post this, Schwarzenegger went on to make The 6th Day, Collateral Damage and Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, while Margolyes starred as Professor Sprout.
