What if we told you that there are some influencers who earn more than an average person? Yes, these influencers exist and they’re not even real. Since last few years, the CGI influencers are also in the game to make huge amounts of money. These influencers may not be an actual person but to the followers, they’re equivalent to any real artist.
The latest report by OnBuy has revealed how much money these digital characters make on Instagram. It explains, “‘Virtual influencers’ – also known as robot or CGI influencers – are on the rise. They’re fictional computer-generated ‘people’ who have the realistic characteristics, features, and personalities of humans. They are becoming a real force to be reckoned with in the influencer marketing industry, taking social media by storm. And with more and more emerging on Instagram every week, and brands queuing up to work with them, could this be the end for human influencers?”
Miquela Sousa, also knowns as Lil Miquela is a robot-influencer has topped the list of highest-paid robot influencers. Created by Trevor McFedries and Sara DeCou, she has 2.8 million Instagram followers and earns around $8,000 per sponsored post. The social media influencer has been featured in product endorsements for luxury brands such as Prada and Calvin Klien. More recently, she worked with Samsung on promoting the new Galaxy Z flip-phone. Lately, she’s also been tagging Amazon Fashion though she hasn’t given any signs of sponsorship.
Coming in behind Lil Miquela is Noonoouri, a virtual influencer created by graphic designer Joerg Zuber. She has worked with Dior and reality star Kim Kardashian. OnBuy estimates that she earns around $1600 per Instagram post. Other notable CGI influencers include Imma, who earns $1200 per post and Bermuda earning $1310 per Insta post.
Well, even though they might not be a real living person, but the money definitely goes to actual humans, basically their creators.
