Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal have been in an alleged affair for a long time now, according to media reports and inside sources. Although the two have repeatedly refuted the claims, the latest news suggests the two may be tying the knot before the year ends.
“Their wedding outfits are being designed by Sabyasachi. They are currently in the process of choosing fabrics for the same; Katrina has chosen a raw silk number for her ensemble, which is going to be a lehenga. The wedding will take place in November-December,” revealed a source to the Times of India.
The possible couple being so secretive about their relationship can attest just how trying preserving a bond can become in the public eye. Here are a few more couples from B-Town that were kept their relationships quiet for a long time.
Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli
The two are known to keep parts of their romantic lives private still, years after marriage. When they first started seeing each other, the two had kept the affair out of the media to get to know each other without that added layer of complications. They met at the set of an ad for a shampoo brand. Kohli later recalled instantly making a joke as soon as he saw her, in his nervous and jittery disposition. They connected thanks to the common ground of their situations; “middle-class families, made it in our respective careers, worked hard, got to a certain stage,” he said. “We came into the scene, in the same year but we didn’t know each other till 2013. That is the year we met. Our lives have been so similar but in totally different worlds.” They confirmed dating each other by 2015 but were not sharing many details with the fans.
The two tied the knot in a grand yet intimate ceremony in Italy back in 2017 and now have a daughter, Vamika, together.
Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh
After her much-publicised relationship with Ranbir Kapoor became a media fest, it is understandable why Padukone would want this one to remain under wraps. The two went without confirming their romantic involvement for close to six years, till they were married. When the two met first, Padukone remembers thinking he was not her type, however, Singh was starstruck. The speculations began after SLB’s Goliyon Ki Raasleela: Ram Leela. After sightings, more movies, industry events and lots of speculation, the two announced via social media on October 21 that they were going to get married on November 14 and 15. Singh had mentioned in an interview how he knew that Deepika was the girl for him, within six months of dating her. “I genuinely believe she is a far more evolved and wholesome person than I am. She is more responsible, mature and independent. Duniyadaari mein woh mujhse aage hai,” he said.
Genelia D’Souza and Riteish Deshmukh
The story this couple shares is nothing short of a movie in its own. The two met on the sets of Tujhe Meri Kasam in 2002. At that time, apparently, D’Souza was not very fond of Deshmukh but grew to like him as the two began to talk. After about nine years of dating, the duo tied the knot in 2012 on February 3 in a Maharashtrian wedding ceremony. They are parents to two boys, Rahyl and Riaan.
Malaika Arora and Arjun Kapoor
Arora and Kapoor keeping their relationship a secret had more to do with the circumstances the two were in. Long before either Malaika or Arjun made things official, dating rumours swirled around the two. It is alleged that Arora’s wedding to Arbaaz Khan ended because she fell in love with Kapoor. Malaika made their relationship Instagram official on his 34th birthday. She shared a loved-up photo from their romantic holiday in New York.
“I don’t try and be overtly talkative about my personal life, because I feel you should respect your partner, and there is a past there… And I’ve been in that situation where I’ve seen things pan out publicly and it’s not always very nice, because there are kids affected,” Arjun Kapoor said in his interview to Film Companion.
Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja
Sonam Kapoor has been as private as one can be, hailing from one of the grandest families of B Town. She, of course, implemented a similar policy when things started off with her now-husband, Anand Ahuja. As it tends to, the media speculated a connection. Tabloids first reported the relationship in 2016, when the two posed in the same picture with Will Smith at Akshay Kumar’s party.
Photos then went viral, of them holding hands, of them attending family events together and of public appearances. Although there was no official confirmation, Sonam’s Valentine’s Day post with #EverydayPhenomenal was taken as a confirmation, which was followed by a wedding announcement just two months later.
