10 Times Bollywood Gave Us Major Friendship Goals

It’s friendship day and ‘ye dosti hum nahi bhoolenge’

It would be quite difficult if one attempts to define friendship, to confine the meaning of this relationship within a few words would be an understatement.

Bollywood has given us major friendship goals time and again. There have been all kinds of friendships and there are unforgettable examples of each. On this friendships day let’s recall some special ones that won our hearts.

1. Sholay

Thinking of Bollywood friendships, the first name that strikes us is ‘Jai-Veeru’. It was not just the movie that created history but the lead characters, essayed by Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra, became symbolic as friends. The ‘Yeh dosti…’ duo became an example for the youth with the amazing rapport and chemistry they shared in the film.

2. 3 Idiots

Based on the Chetan Bhagat’s 5 point someone, this film had many lessons to offer but the bond between the ‘3 idiots’ portrayed by R Madhvan, Sharman Joshhi and Amir Khan, was unforgettable. Who doesn’t get emotional when ‘Jaane nahi denge tujhe…’ song comes up?

3. Dor

In this soul-stirring movie, the bond between the two protagonists, played by Gul Panag and Ayesha Takia left us feeling all mushy and empowered at the same time. The friendship may have begun with the intention of gain but eventually it was genuine friendship between the two that gave a new hope to both of them.

4. Queen

The dialogue when Vijaylaxmi, played by Liza Haydon, says, ‘Vijay nai to kya hua, Vijaylaxmi to hai’, is when we realized that lovers may come and go but friends are forever.

5. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

This movie was a breath of fresh air, the friendship between Farhan, Akhtar, Hritik Roshan and Abhay Deol left a special mark in everyone’s heart. Each character as important as the other, the lifelong friends inspire us to cherish the bond of friendship.

6. Rang de Basanti

Although the theme of the film was patriotism, the friendship between all the friends, played by Amir Khan, R Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, Soha Ali Khan, Kunal Kapoor and Siddharth Narayan is inspiring till date.

7. Pink

Three friends Meenal, Falak and Andrea, overcame the unfavorable circumstances and fought the society, all because they supported and believed in each other all along.

8. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani

Despite being popular for Ranbir and Deepika’s chemistry, this film showed how important a part friendship plays in life. The bond between Deepika, Kalki, Ranbir and Aditya proved how even after having it all, there is something incomplete if you don’t have friends.

9. Parched

From patriarchy to worthless traditions, Rani, Lajjo and Bijli battle everything, supporting each other throughout. The characters played by Tannishtha Chatterjee, Radhika Apte and Surveen Chawla left us inspired.

10. Dil Chahta Hai

The fact that the story of three close friends connected so well with people was that it was all about the real people. If we look around, every group will have one Akash, Sameer or Siddharth. The chemistry between Amir Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Khanna is a reflection of our own friend circle.
