Kshitij Prasad, a former executive producer of Dharmatic Entertainment, the sister concern of Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, told a Mumbai court that the NCB had forced him to falsely implicate Johar and other executives of the company in the ongoing drugs-related case.

Prasad was called in on Friday by the bureau for questioning into the alleged “drugs nexus” in Bollywood and was placed under arrest on Saturday, the Indian Express reports.

However, Mutha Ashok Jain, the agency’s Deputy DG (South West) refuted Prasad’s claims and stated that the investigation was conducted in a “professional manner”.

The 30-year-old former Dharmatic employee’s house was raided by the NCB and they claimed that a “roll joint believed to be remains of smoked ganja” was retrieved. The agency also stated that bank and cash payments to the tune of Rs 3,500 each on around a dozen occasions between May and July were made by Prasad for the purchase of ganja.

Prasad’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde stated that his client had informed the court that he had been “harassed and blackmailed” into making a statement to the NCB.

As of now, 20 people have been arrested in the case including actor Rhea Chakraborty.
