Five Popstars Who Vanished From The Scene
Five Popstars Who Vanished From The Scene

Seriously though, where are they?

If you want to survive in the music business, you’ve got to learn to be consistent. That’s just how it works. People have no difficulty in forgetting your face and your music, if you don’t remind them that you still exist, and hand them another song. Well, these popstars failed to do that. Some either took way too long to release a song, while the others just don’t care anymore. Here are popstars who vanished from the scene:

Carley Rae Jepsen

Her 2012 release, “Call Me Maybe”, was a huge hit. It was over played almost everywhere. I really do mean everywhere. But that was about it. She released her debut album, which did okay. Her second album failed to make a mark on the charts. Since then, nobody’s really heard anything from her. Another one hit wonder?

Seal

Seal’s song “Kiss From A Rose”, is still considered to be a classic, but as for today, I don’t remember any Seal song that topped the charts. He’s been struggling with his music career for quite some time now. The last time Seal was even talked about, was in 2014, when the news about his split with his wife, Heidi Klum, emerged.

Nelly Furtado

Nelly Furtado was a name that everyone knew back in 2006, but not anymore. An artist who touched great heights at the start of her career with the help of star producer, Timbaland, but was never able to maintain that level of success. Her 2006 album, “Loose”, sold 219,000 copies sold in its first week. Things started to go downhill after that. Her 2012 album, “The Spirit Indestructible”, sold 6000 copies in the first week, and her 2017 album, “The Ride”, barely sold 1814 copies sold in the first week.

Rebecca Black

Who doesn’t know Rebecca’s breakthrough hit, “Friday”, but also, who knows her songs now? After the release of Friday, the singer was unable to make a mark in the music industry. A couple of failed releases later, we still don’t know where she is.

Justin Bieber

After delivering a solid project like “Purpose” in 2015, that helped him break the mold of a teenage popstar and transformed him into a mature artist, Justin decided to take a break from almost everything. His personal life has a lot going on for sure, for instance, he just got married, but his music career, not so much. There’s been no news of the artist working on a new album, because he plans to devote his time going to church and focusing on his mental well-being.
