Aamir Khan is known as Mr. Perfectionist for a reason. We’ve all seen his transformation for the film Dangal where he gained a substantial amount of weight to play the role of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat. But what most people may not know is that Aamir had to work equally hard to get back into shape to play the younger version of Mahavir Singh Phogat.
The actor is now out with a video that documents his fitness journey and which introduces all those involved in the process, including his fitness trainers Rahul Bhatt and Rakesh Udiyar. In the video, they discuss how Aamir Khan worked on his body and that he insisted the film be shot in reverse order (starting from the time he gained weight to when he lost 25 kgs) so that he had some sort of motivation to get back into shape.
In the video, the trainers explain in depth how they opted for a customized diet plan for Aamir after consulting renowned dietician Dr. Nikhil Dhurandhar. In order to gain weight, Aamir could indulge in all forms of food items such as samosas, chocolates, ice creams and the like, on a daily basis. The real challenge was how to shed the weight and for that, Aamir stuck to calorie count system. Also, Aamir’s exercise regime was pretty strict and it involved a lot of weight lifting.
The inspiring Khan, in an interview, has also stated that weight loss is a gradual process and that people should opt for a steady way to burn those calories because a hurried approach might adversely affect one’s health.
