Titled Toofan, the film will see Akhtar in a fresh avatar, and his fans are pretty excited to see the actor on the screen after the long break that he took. Rumour has it that Akhtar has bagged an international project with Marvel Studios and has already flown down to Bangkok for the shoot of the same.

A source close to the development has confirmed the news and revealed that the actor will be shooting in Thailand’s capital for the project. “Farhan is currently stationed in Bangkok, along with an international cast and crew, for the shoot of a project with Marvel Studios, who are known to be one of the biggest film studios worldwide,” the source revealed. The source refrained from giving any other detail about the project. “All other details of the project are strictly under wraps,” the source stated.
While Akhtar and his team have managed to keep the details quite discrete, reports suggested that Akhtar could be a part of Marvel’s Ms Marvel series. The team of Ms Marvel is going to shoot in Bangkok after wrapping up filming in Atlanta and there is a possibility that the Toofan actor is shooting with them. Bollywood star Mohan Kapur had already joined the cast of the series in Atlanta, and there could be a chance that the team roped in another Indian actor, Akhtar in this case, for a pivotal role.
Talking about his next release, Farhan Akhtar has the film Toofan lined up for a digital release on Amazon Prime on May 21. The actor will be seen essaying the role of a boxer in the film. Directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, the film also features Mrunal Thakur, Paresh Rawal, Supriya Pathak Kapur and Hussain Dalal in key roles. The film also marks Akhtar’s second project with Mehra. The two had collaborated for the film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag in 2003.
