Fans have flooded Marvel’s virtual doors with petitions and requests to not recast the role of the Black Panther, following the Chadwick Boseman’s tragic death after his battle with colon cancer.
In a now viral tweet, one fan urged Marvel studio to not recast the role on Twitter.
“Don’t recast that role @MarvelStudios. It’s done,” he tweeted.
Jeremy Conrad, the host of the MCU Cosmic podcast, also shared the same sentiment:
He wrote: Don’t recast. He can’t be replaced. #WakandaForever
Other fans also followed by supporting the tweet, claiming Boseman’s rendition of the superhero is irreplaceable.
But some fans brought up the point of how Marvel can move forward. “They have three options. Bring back Kilmonger, make Shuri the new Black Panther like she was in the comics or use the upcoming Dr. Strange and the Multiverse of Madness movie to introduce an alternate version of T’Challa and make him the Black Panther in Black Panther 2,” tweeted a fan.
But actor and producer Matt Walton revealed in a tweet that Disney is reportedly looking for new actors.
There is still no confirmation on the studio’s intentions on what to do with the character. Hopefully, fans will get an official answer soon.
Marvel also released a special tribute video to honour Boseman’s memory. Watch the video below:
