The developments so far:
Claims
One of the women (Zoe) claims that the SATC actor raped her in his West Hollywood apartment in 2004. She had gone to return a book when the incident took place. The woman was 22 at the time of the incident. She reported the incident to be so brutal that she has had to receive stitches due to her injuries.
The other woman (Lily) alleged that she was on a date with Noth in New York in 2015. She was invited back to the actor’s apartment, where he allegedly assaulted her. She was 25 and he was 60 at this time.
Adding to this, Lister-Jones also posted a series of Instagram stories calling out Chris Noth. She said that the actor was ‘sexually inappropriate’ to women who worked at a New York City club he owned. She went on to claim that he used to sniff her neck while drunk on the set of the detective show that they worked on together.
Investigation
Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has stated that there is no investigation into the allegations made against the actor. “There is no record of a report being filed at this time. Without a report, there is no investigation,” said Officer Drake Madison.
Noth’s Statement
In a statement issued to The Hollywood Reporter, the 67-year-old actor said, “The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false. These stories could’ve been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago — no always means no — that is a line I did not cross. The encounters were consensual.”
He added, “It’s difficult not to question the timing of these stories coming out. I don’t know for certain why they are surfacing now, but I do know this: I did not assault these women.”
Peloton Campaign Suspended
Recently, the actor appeared in the first episode of And Just Like That. His character dies of a heart attack shortly after working out on a Peloton exercise bike. Taking advantage of the same, the fitness company quickly got Noth on board to appear in a parody advertisement emphasizing the health benefits of its product. However, in the wake of the allegations, the brand has removed all social media posts, saying it was “unaware” of the allegations against the actor.
