Jimmy Kimmel hosted the event with an almost vacant Staples Center in Los Angeles, where winners accepting awards remotely, virtually, and digitally. Schitt’s Creek sweeped most of the awards including Outstanding Comedy Series award. Zendaya made a history of being the youngest lead actress to win an Emmy. She was nominated for the very first time and won the award for her role in Euphoria. Mark Ruffalo took home the award for lead actor in limited series for I Know This Much Is True. Superhero drama Watchmen nabbed four awards including Outstanding Drama Series, Lead Actor for Jeremy Strong, and writing and directing.
