Mohit Suri’s 2014 release, Ek Villain was a resounding hit at the Box Office even though it failed to hit the mark with critics. While critics like Raja Sen and Saibal Chatterjee gave the film low ratings, there was universal praise for Mohit Suri, the director of Ek Villain.
Ek Villain starred Sidharth Malhotra, Shraddha Kapoor and Ritiesh Deshmukh. Now, Mohit Suri has revealed that the sequel to Ek Villain, called Ek Villain Returns will hit theatres on February 11 next year.
While it was earlier announced that the film would star John Abraham and Aditya Roy Kapur, it has now been announced that Kapur has been replaced by Arjun Kapoor. Actors Tara Sutaria and Disha Patani will play the female leads opposite the two actors. According to media reports, Abraham and Kapoor will play the role of villains in the movie.

“Hero ki kahaani sab jaante hai.. par villain ki? #EkVillainReturns, 11th Feb, 2022 (sic),” Mohit Suri wrote on Twitter while announcing the sequel.
In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, the director had said that he is looking to create a franchise on villains. “Shraddha, Sidharth and Riteish have been a part of my biggest films and I love them, but this is a different story, with new characters that refer to the older ones,” he had said.
“It is essentially a villain versus villain. Both Adi and John are playing negative characters,” Suri had said earlier about Ek Villain Returns.
