The first time we saw Ayushmann Khurrana on the big screen was back in 2012 with his first hit, Vicky Donor. Since then the MTV Roadies winner has proved himself as the mascot for giving out content-driven cinema.
We all know Khurrana has been giving out incredible performances in the last couple of years. His latest release Dream Girl directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa hit theatres on 13 September. The film revolves around Khurrana wooing men and women with his feminine voice that leads to a series of unusual situations.
Starring actors like Nushrat Barusha, Annu Kapoor, Vijay Raaj, Manjot Singh and Abhishek Verma, the film has been successful in bringing audiences in large numbers.
According to Filmfare, Dream Girl has managed to earn Rs. 10.05 crores on its first day itself, which became Khurrana’s highest opener till date. And after noticing a rise in the numbers over the weekend, the film earned Rs 16.42 on Saturday and Rs 18.10 crores on Sunday, making a total of Rs 44.57 crores during its opening weekend.
Apart from being the biggest opener of his films, Dream Girl beat Ayushmaan’s earlier releases and box-office hits like Uri (Rs 37.53 crores), Stree (Rs 32.27 crores), and Raazi (Rs 32.94 crores). This was reported by Filmfare.
