We’ve all missed movie Fridays but fans of Dil Bechara might not get to see the film on the big screen. With the theatres opening, six big Bollywood films are all set to hit the screens – Khaali Peeli, War, Kedarnath, Tanhaji, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, and Malang.
“As cinemas ready to reopen their doors from this week onwards, the list of Hindi films scheduled for re-release this week is officially announced… Tanhaji, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, Malang, Kedarnath, and Thappad. More films will be scheduled in coming days,” wrote trade analyst Taran Adarsh in a tweet.
“The list of Hindi films re-releasing in cinemas keeps growing… In addition to the five titles mentioned earlier, there’s a prominent addition to the list: War… More films will be scheduled in coming days,” he added.
Besides Dil Bechara, other big films like Sadak 2, Shakuntala Devi, Khuda Haafiz, Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, and Gulabo Sitabo which were released on streaming platforms will not be releasing in theatres.
When the trailer for Sushant Singh Rajput’s Dil Bechara was released on July 6, it managed to garner 32 million views on YouTube in just 24 hours. With over 6.4 million likes, it left the trailer for Hollywood blockbuster, Avengers: Endgame in the dust, and became the most liked film trailer on the site.
Now, post its release on Disney + Hotstar, it appears that the film has broken another record. Within mere minutes of its release, the film topped IMDb’s list of top-rated Indian movies.
The PM Narendra Modi biopic, starring Vivek Oberoi, which released last year, will also open in cinemas on October 15.
