Anyone who thought that petty feuds were just meant for the Kardashians and company couldn’t be more wrong. Apart from constantly surfacing rumors between the two, Fast and Furious actors Vin Diesel and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson have been locking horns for years – culminating in a very direct public denial of Diesel’s attempt to bury the hatchet.

This Wednesday, Diesel put up an Instagram post to try and bring back The Rock into his beloved familia. Take a look:

In the post, Diesel says:

“My little brother Dwayne… the time has come. The world awaits the finale of Fast 10. As you know, my children refer to you as Uncle Dwayne in my house. There is not a holiday that goes by that they and you don’t send well wishes… but the time has come.” He also invoked the spirit of late Fast and Furious star Paul “Pablo” Walker, adding, “I say this out of love… but you must show up, do not leave the franchise idle you have a very important role to play.”

With over 2 million likes and plenty of ‘familia’ chanting, it seems that the fans have eaten this up – though Johnson is decidedly not one of them. The feud kicked off ages ago in 2016, when Johnson publicly denounced the male cast of the films as filming wrapped up around The Fate of the Furious.

“My female co-stars are always amazing and I love ’em,” he shared on Instagram. “My male co-stars however are a different story. Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don’t. The ones that don’t are too chicken sh-t to do anything about it anyway. Candy asses.”

In the months and years leading up, Diesel would hit back defensively, referring to Johnson (who is nearly six inches taller) as his ‘little brother Dwayne,’ something he’s done once more this time around.

Many fans can smell what the Rock is cooking – and it probably isn’t a laugh.

Speaking to CNN, the actor and wrestler mentioned, “This past June, when Vin and I actually connected not over social media, I told him directly – and privately – that I would not be returning to the franchise. I was firm yet cordial with my words and said that I would always be supportive of the cast and always root for the franchise to be successful, but that there was no chance I would return.”

“Vin’s recent public post was an example of his manipulation,” he continued. “I didn’t like that he brought up his children in the post, as well as Paul Walker’s death. Leave them out of it. We had spoken months ago about this and came to a clear understanding. My goal all along was to end my amazing journey with this incredible Fast & Furious franchise with gratitude and grace. It’s unfortunate that this public dialogue has muddied the waters.”

Dwayne Johnson is set to star in next year’s Black Adam – slated for a summer 2022 release.
