Demi Lovato came out as pansexual. As a guest on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, the singer talked about her upcoming album, new documentary show and more. During their conversation, the two started talking about having kids and getting married, and Lovato’s ended engagement with Max Ehrich when the star began speaking about her “fluidity” with attraction.

“At this moment I want to adopt for sure. I also don’t know if I’m going to end up with a guy, so I can’t really see myself even getting pregnant,” she explained. “I’m so fluid now, and a part of the reason why I am so fluid is because I was super closeted off.” Rogan then asked if that meant she identified as pansexual, and she replied: “Yeah, pansexual. I like anything, really.”

Lovato continued saying that there was another phrase she heard someone use that she liked even more. “I heard someone call the LGBTQIA+ community the ‘alphabet mafia,’ and I was like, ‘That’s it. That’s what I’m going with,'” she said. “I’m part of the alphabet mafia and proud.”

Speaking on the podcast, Lovato admitted that she first noticed her attraction to women after watching Selma Blair and Sarah Michelle Gellar kiss in that infamous Cruel Intentions scene. Sadly, the singer’s religious childhood had impacted her ability to accept her sexuality.

This is not the first time Lovato is open about her sexuality. In January last year, she talked about how she was “still figuring out” her sexuality and she didn’t tell her parents she saw herself possibly ending up with a woman until 2017. Lovato also said that she was “too gay to marry a man right now” after she ended her engagement with Max Ehrich in July 2020.
