The Friends reunion episode was a nostalgic affair for all the fans. But while they enjoyed seeing the cast reunite for one last time, many yearned to see Ross and Monica’s ‘The Routine’ dance during the special episode. Days after the release of the episode, Monica aka Courteney Cox and Ed Sheeran have now granted that wish.

Cox posted a video on social media where one can see her and Sheeran do the Routine. For anyone who doesn’t remember, the dance routine that Courteney Cox and Ed Sheeran are seen doing is from the episode titled The One With The Routine. Monica (Cox) and Ross (David Schwimmer) perform their childhood dance routine, which is a weird yet fun looking dance, to be able to dance on the main stage during a live telecast of a popular reality tv show. For this iconic scene alone, The One With The Routine episode is one of the most popular episodes of the show.

Cox captioned the video as, “Just some routine dancing with a friend… @teddysphotos #ReRoutine.” Check the video here:

Earlier, Friends Reunion director Ben Winstow had revealed why ‘The Routine’ was not a part of the special episode and told THR, “I did say, ‘Would you ever consider doing The Routine?’ And both (Cox and Schwimmer) of them were like, “Oh, please don’t make us do that.” There were certain things I really cared for, like the table read or the quiz. I also couldn’t work out where it would have worked. I’m not sure it would have landed 20 years later. But it was definitely on my list of ideas that I pitched.”

Apart from this, many fans were also upset that Paul Rudd or Cole Sprouse were absent from the reunion talk show. Ben Winston spoke to The Wrap and explained why they were not able to have all the desired cameos. He shared, “Well, we couldn’t have everybody on, because it’s only an hour and 45 minutes. And you’ve got to pay attention — the main nub of the show has got to be about the six cast members. So you can’t have too many cameos because of course, there were hundreds of amazing people who were in Friends over the years. Sadly, we couldn’t get everybody in.”

Winston added that they invited other cast members as well but due to the Covid-19 restrictions, it wasn’t possible for everyone to make it.
