Initiated by the ‘World Health Organization’, ‘World No Tobacco Day’ is observed every year on May 31 to spread awareness about the ill effects of tobacco consumption. On this day, people are encouraged to abstain from tobacco for 24 hours.

Ambassador of the World Health Organisation’s anti-smoking movement, Vivek quit after visiting cancer patients in Mumbai. In fact, he does not even let people smoke on his film sets, according to Cosmopolitan.

According to The Times Of India, Shahid who had started smoking six years back, post his break-up with Kareena Kapoor Khan, indulged in this habit for a long time. He’s, however, finally given up on the habit upon the insistence of his wife, Mira Kapoor.
