BTS had already become the fastest Korean Pop band to clock a billion views on YouTube. V, J-Hope, RM, Jin, Jimin, Jungkook and Suga’s song got a billion views in just over 7 months of its release on the video streaming platform. BTS’ song Dynamite had dropped online on August 21, 2020. The song also holds the YouTube record for the most viewed music videos in the first 24 hours of release as it clocked an impressive 101.1 million views on the first day of its release.

Earlier, Dynamite spent 26 consecutive weeks on the Canadian Hot 100, which is exactly half a year. And now that it has hit the mark, the track ties with Psy’s Gangnam Style as the longest-charting song by a South Korean musician in the history of the roster. At the moment, they may be on the same level as one another, but Dynamite stands a very good chance of improving its tenure once again next week, and if it does, it will instantly become the longest-charting song by a South Korean act in Canadian history.
