Brad Pitt has been having quite a good year so far. The actor won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood this year and has now scored a surprise Emmy Nomination in the outstanding guest actor in a comedy series category for playing Dr. Anthony Fauci on Saturday Night Live.
Pitt’s fellow nominees are Luke Kirby (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), the late Fred Willard (Modern Family), Dev Patel (Modern Love), Adam Driver (SNL) and Eddie Murphy (SNL).
The actor appeared in the SNL sketch in an April episode after Fauci was asked by CNN‘s Alisyn Camerota on New Day who he’d like to play him on Saturday Night Live. Fauci had said: “Brad Pitt, of course”.
“I think he did great,” Fauci said after the sketch aired, according to CNN. “I mean, I’m a great fan of Brad Pitt, and that’s the reason why when people ask me who’d I like to play me I mention Brad Pitt because he’s one of my favorite actors. I think he did a great job.”
