Should Bollywood Stars Stay Away From Social Media?
Should Bollywood Stars Stop Using Social Media? Netizens Weigh In

A Reddit thread discussed whether Bollywood stars should quit social media or not, and some answers were quite insightful

Social media has bridged the gap between actors and fans. It’s become an indispensable part of everyone’s lives, and anyone can drop a message to their favourite stars and anticipate a reply, and sometimes even get lucky to get a message from them. Not just this, celebs document almost all parts of their lives on social media to keep their fans connect and aware of their whereabouts.

However, social media comes with drawbacks. Bollywood stars are over-scrutinised, are always in the limelight and are easily trolled for the smallest thing on social media. Be it a comment they made or the kind of clothes they wear, every single step of theirs is judged.

This started a valid discussion on Reddit with a user asking whether celebs should stop using social media. The user asked, “Let’s discuss? I can go first: Bollywood stars should stop using social media. The overexposure and PR scrubbing isn’t helping them.,” attaching the picture that discussed how people are cancelling each other due to Bollywood.

The post got quite some reactions with users sharing different insights about what they think about the topic. While some felt that it’s all a PR stunt, others felt that social media was the only way fans could connect to a star. Many insightful and hilarious things were said on the thread that cannot be missed.

While many stars like to play out their lives on social media, others have also quit different platforms for different reasons. Actors like Sonakshi Sinha, Aamir Khan, Saqib Saleem, and Aayush Sharma have quit social media over harassment. Sonam Kapoor, Neha Dhupia, Priyanka Chopra, Abhishek Bachchan, and others have even given it back to trolls whenever necessary.
