While OTT has seen a major boom this year due to the global lockdowns initiated because of the coronavirus pandemic, big Bollywood movies have taken a major hit. Built on storylines meant to garner hoots and whistles in theatres, the production companies have either been waiting for theatres to open or the pandemic to subside. While theatres have indeed opened in some parts of the country, the audience turnout has been dismal, to say the least.

However, Bollywood continues to remain optimistic as five of the film industry’s biggest stars are gearing up to kick start their new projects this Diwali month.

There’s Shah Rukh Khan who will start shooting for Pathan which stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. The film is supposed to be a ‘battle royale’ between King Khan and Abraham. According to media reports, Salman Khan will also be making a cameo appearance in the movie.

Salman Khan who has almost finished Radhe will not start work on Antim which is the remake of the Marathi film, Mulshi Pattern. The film will be helmed by Mahesh Manjrekar. Khan will be playing the role of a policeman in the film while his brother-in-law Aayush Sharma will be playing the role of a gangster. The film will be shot in a village in Pune and in studios in Karjat and Mumbai, reports Filmfare.

We had also reported earlier that Rohit Shetty is working on an adaptation of Shakespeare’s Comedy Of Errors titled Cirkus with Ranveer Singh, Jacqueline Fernandez, Pooja Hegde, and Varun Sharma.

Ranbir Kapoor who has been working on Brahmastra and Shamshera for the last three years will also begin shooting for a new project by the end of this month. He’s set to star in Luv Ranjan’s untitled rom-com where he teams up with Shraddha Kapoor for the first time.
